What happens when artificial intelligence re-enters the visual memory of Azerbaijani cinema?
Presented at Istanbul Digital Art Festival 2024 at Atatürk Cultural Center, the series reimagines scenes from ten Azerbaijani films through AI-assisted moving image. Rather than treating cinema history as a fixed archive, the work tests how generative systems read Caucasian, Azerbaijani and Turkish cultures—moving familiar black-and-white images into an unstable, vivid present. It asks how these films might be shaped if produced today, and what is transformed, preserved or misread when cultural memory passes through a machine.

For Artificial Dreams at Milano Digital Week, Cinematic Future of AI in Azerbaijan was presented in an updated edition, extending the project beyond its Istanbul premiere at the fourth Istanbul Digital Art Festival. The work brings artificial intelligence into dialogue with Azerbaijani cinema and cultural memory, imagining how technology might reshape the visual language through which this heritage reaches an international audience.

A descent into the Mediterranean, where marine life becomes spatial image.
Presented at X Media Art Museum by DasDas, this five-artist group exhibition invites audiences into the depths of the Mediterranean. Across panoramic projection surfaces, anemone shrimp, octopus, starfish, spotted stingray, sea urchin and other marine species form an evolving underwater environment. The work also turns attention toward marine pollution and threatened ecosystems. My contribution focused on 3D modelling for the immersive image system.

Ornament as a code of historical memory, unfolding inside the architecture of Icherisheher.
Presented at the International Carpet Festival in Icherisheher, Baku, Time is an open-air LED installation created for two intertwined heritage milestones: the 25th anniversary of Icherisheher's inclusion on UNESCO's World Heritage List and the 15th anniversary of Azerbaijani carpet art on UNESCO's Intangible Cultural Heritage List. The work transforms carpet ornaments, calligraphic gestures and medieval Baku architecture into a continuous audiovisual passage—treating decorative and applied arts not as surface, but as a living archive carried across generations.

A dreamlike passage through ornament, memory and the symbolic language of inheritance.
Presented in a group exhibition during the Türkiye Kültür Yolu Festivali, Treasure layers dense carpets, luminous textiles, orchids and horned animal figures into a shifting audiovisual tableau. Ram heads and horns evoke ancestral belief systems; rare flowers and gold embellishment point toward desire, value and the search for identity. Each frame opens like a threshold, proposing cultural memory not as something fixed, but as a living treasure to be rediscovered and claimed.

A quiet psychological rupture unfolds within a single room.
A woman wakes in a room that feels at once familiar and estranged. As ordinary gestures fracture into micro-delays, repetitions and interruptions, her hands appear older than her own presence. The house becomes a temporal container of inherited memory, where past, present and future collide in small physical displacements. The film explores temporal entrapment, inherited emotional architectures and the silent persistence of past lives within the present self. Identity is not destroyed by the spreading cracks—it is exposed.

A speculative portrait of homeland, memory and belonging.
An AI-assisted short film and video-art experiment that approaches the motherland as both physical geography and inherited memory. Reconstructed landscapes, symbolic figures and dreamlike temporal shifts frame belonging as an emotional archive shaped by departure, return, loss and remembrance. The film has been presented at international festivals and continues its exhibition journey.

An adaptable video-art system built to travel with the band.
Created initially for REDD's symphonic concert at Turkcell Vadi and subsequently adapted for the band's concerts beyond the orchestral format, the work functions as a flexible video-art system shaped by the emotional and lyrical world of the songs. “Aşk, Virüs” has become its most frequently used visual sequence, combining distressed typography, fragmented bodies and archival graphic textures.

Drawing becomes atmosphere, memory and fracture.
For the theatre production Tarantula, I developed a hand-drawn video-art language that travels across the fragmented architecture of the stage. Birds, skeletal bodies and glitching line structures move between backdrop, set and performer, turning projection into a psychological extension of the character.

A mythic world unfolding across the architecture of the stage.
For Ahmed Adnan Saygun's Gilgameş, presented in its world premiere by Istanbul State Opera and Ballet, I developed a moving-image world that expands the opera's scale through forest, ritual, fire, celestial form and monumental anatomy. The digital-art system shifts with the dramatic arc, moving between earthly, sacred and cosmic space.

For Edusa — composed by Güldiyar Tanrıdağlı with a libretto by İskender Pala — I developed a digital-art language built from excavated objects, buried roots, monumental animal forms, ruined cities and shifting architectural strata.
